Stitch Fix November Review on Spoonful of Flavor

Stitch Fix November 2014 Review

Is it just me or is it really difficult to find fun winter clothes? As soon as the cooler weather hits, stores stock heavy sweaters and dark colors. I live in Florida so I certainly don’t always need chunky sweaters. And it can be a challenge to find fun feminine pieces perfect for cooler weather. Luckily, my stylist at Stitch Fix knows exactly what I need.  Read on to see what I kept this month.

Don’t forget to give the gift of Stitch Fix this holiday season. Send a gift card to friends or family and let them see for themselves what Stitch Fix is all about!

WHAT IS STITCH FIX?

Stitch Fix reminds me of the personal stylists that they have at Nordstrom or similar stores, except I’ll never actually meet my stylist and all of the items are shipped directly to my door. When you sign up, they ask you to fill out a style profile, where you specify sizes, price ranges, shapes, styles and any colors or patterns that you prefer. You pick a date that you want your fix shipped and they send you a box of 5 clothing and accessory items hand-picked based on your style profile. You can schedule one delivery or sign up for automatic monthly deliveries. You pay a $20 styling fee for each box, which also includes delivery. The $20 styling fee is applied as a credit towards anything you keep from your box. If you purchase everything in your box, you receive 25% off the entire purchase.

MY FOURTEENTH STITCH FIX

So here is my 14th Stitch Fix box:

Stitch Fix November Review on Spoonful of Flavor

(1) Level 99 Patrick Chino Pant – $108

When it comes to pants, I usually like the basics. I wear denim and black and usually don’t stray from those two colors. I almost always wear skirts and dresses for work but am always looking for a casual pair of pants. These chinos are really comfortable and the color is great for fall.

(2) Skies are Blue Astair Abstract Stripe Front Pocket Blouse – $48

I’m always looking for fun tops I can throw under a blazer for work. I love the fall colors on this blouse and the pocket detail is fun. A colorful patterned blouse can make an otherwise boring outfit fun.

(3) Loveappella Arti Funnel Neck Fit & Flare Dress – $68

This dress is comfortable and the quality is good. I do feel a little frumpy in it and it is a little short. I try not to keep a piece that I don’t feel comfortable in because I know that even if I think I like them, I usually won’t ever wear it. This dress would be cute with a fun little belt and perhaps leggings and boots.

(4) Sweet Rain Thomas Striped Raglan Sweater – $58

I’m not usually a fan of horizontal stripes, but this sweater is actually quite comfortable and I really like the neckline. Unfortunately it was about a size too small and short in the sleeves.

(5) Bay to Baubles Miko Small Beaded Bib Necklace – $32

For quite a few months I actually requested that my stylist send me five clothing pieces and no accessories. But this month I decided to try the accessories again and received this necklace. I am actually quite impressed with the quality of the necklace. It is exactly my style and a piece that I will probably wear often. I paired it with the 41Hawthorne McQue Solid Lace Sleeve Blouse I received in my last fix.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

The winners from this fix were #2 (Skies are Blue Astair Abstract Stripe Front Pocket Blouse) and #5 (Bay to Baubles Mikko Small Beaded Bib Necklace). Stitch Fix definitely makes shopping for fall and winter clothes easy. I may actually regret not keeping the chinos because they are different than any other piece in my closet. I love that this fix included a fun necklace and I can’t wait to see what arrives next month!
