Mango Sorbet

Summer is just around the corner, and with it comes seasonal summer fruit. While I like winter citrus, I really look forward to spring and summer seasonal fruit. Berries, mangoes and watermelon are my favorite fruits. In particular, there is something about mango that is tropical and exotic. The texture is smooth and creamy and the flavor is sweet.

I love this mango sorbet because it is fruity, refreshing and easy to make. It has me dreaming of sipping a mango colada on a beach in the Caribbean islands.

Mango Sorbet

Yield: about 1 quart

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Mango sorbet is an easy recipe made with real mangos! Cool down with a double scoop of this fresh and flavorful sorbet made with only five ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large mangoes, peeled, seeded and cubed
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons dark rum
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

In a blender or food processor, combine the mango, sugar, water, lime juice, rum and salt. Puree the mixture until smooth. Chill mixture thoroughly in the refrigerator. Freeze in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
