Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, Florida is unlike anything that you have ever experienced. From luxury accommodations to five star dining and even a spa with a chocolate pedicure on the menu, the Epicurean is a paradise for foodies!
When I travel, I focus on the experience. For me, a hotel is not just a bed to sleep in but a place to immerse myself in everything that the property has to offer. A weekend at the Epicurean Hotel in Tampa, Florida was a unique experience unlike any other property that I have ever visited. It was something that you imagine in you dreams – luxury accommodations, a large theater with cooking demonstrations, five star dining, a relaxing spa where you can enjoy a chocolate pedicure and all of the sweet treats that you could ever want.
Last weekend I had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Epicurean Hotel. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you were able to see a preview of the amazing time that I had at the Epicurean. The hotel is a paradise for foodies. Any trip that immediately starts with French macarons and a glass of wine is a step above the rest. The food, the service, and the culinary details were all exceptional.

As you walk into the lobby, you are immediately greeted by subtle yet unique culinary influences. From the old wine crates lining the wall to the old cookbooks available for perusing. Every little detail elevates the overall experience.
The rooms are luxurious and comfortable with culinary touches scattered throughout. Luxury bath products, dual shower heads, and an in-room pantry full of snacks are also available.
The rooftop bar, EDGE is the perfect place to grab a drink before dinner. And Bern’s Fine Wines and Spirits located right outside of the lobby of the hotel hosts weekly wine tastings. The options are endless for enjoying fine wine, delicious food and culinary traditions.
Here is just a sampling of the fun and unique things you can experience at the Epicurean Hotel:
- Borrow the bikes for a ride through Hyde Park and Bayshore Boulevard
- Attend a culinary event at the Epicurean Theatre
- Sip a glass of wine on the rooftop bar
- Enjoy a wine tasting at Bern’s Fine Wine and Spirits
- Indulge in a slice of rich chocolate cake while enjoying afternoon tea at Chocolate Pi
- Relax and pamper yourself with a delectable Dulce Delight pedicure at Spa Evangeline
- Start the evening with a wonderful meal at Élevage
- Soak up some sun and enjoy a cocktail or two at the outdoor pool
The Epicurean Theatre hosts unique culinary events in their top-of-the-line demonstration kitchen. While there were no public events happening during the weekend that I visited, I can’t wait to attend an event the next time I visit Epicurean.

We enjoyed dinner and brunch at Élevage. Executive Chef Chad Johnson is a 2012 and 2014 James Beard Best Chef South Semi-Finalist. For dinner we started with the deviled eggs, pork and beans, bikini sandwich and fried green tomatoes. We also ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon and Hanger Steak with potato puree and Mac and cheese. All of those dishes may sound ordinary, but they were anything but. In fact, the brussels sprouts that were served with the salmon were the best that I’ve ever had. Each dish is a unique and modern twist on your classic favorites.
The hotel featured wall gardens scattered throughout the property where the chefs pick fresh veggies and herbs. I don’t think you can get any closer farm-to-table ingredients.
The moment that I stepped into Chocolate Pi, I felt like I had stepped into a quaint French patisserie. You will find everything from freshly brewed tea and homemade Italian sodas to the most delicate and flavorful French macarons. I could spend all day just sampling each of the delectable creations. The macarons were by far the best in Tampa!
A spa for foodies? And better yet, a spa for chocolate lovers? Is this reality? It sure felt like I had died and gone to chocolate heaven. I made an appointment for the Dulce Delight pedicure and was not disappointed. Inspired by Chocolate Pi’s salted caramel dessert, the pedicure started with a caramel coffee salt scrub, followed by a dark chocolate mask and sweet cream milk moisturizer. The best part was the salted caramel chocolate macaron that I enjoyed while waiting for my nails to dry. The spa uses FarmHouse Fresh products which include natural and organic ingredients and are vegan and gluten-free. I was able to take home a jar of the Sundae Best Chocolate Mask to continue my own chocolate pedicures at home!
I also want this herb garden and wine cork wall in my home. About 20,000 wine corks were hand placed on a wall in the spa. A wonderfully fresh and fragrant herb garden is also showcased on the wall.
Who could have ever imagined a hotel centered around food in Tampa, Florida? Can I go back every weekend? I mean, who wouldn’t want to sip wine on the rooftop bar, relax at the spa and indulge in a slice of chocolate cake. It truly is a paradise for foodies. The Epicurean Hotel is the perfect weekend getaway and I can’t wait to return. Bring your appetite and imagination and experience everything that the Epicurean Hotel has to offer!
