After four years and 49 fixes later, I’m partnering together with Stitch Fix this month to consolidate my wardrobe. I’m also giving away a $100 credit to Stitch Fix to one lucky reader! Plus, if you sign up and schedule your first fix before the end of January 2018, your styling fee is waived! That means, it costs absolutely nothing to try it. You have nothing to lose! I received my first Stitch Fix box in October 2013! So much changed in my life within the past four years. I became a mom, quit my “day job” and pursued my business full time. I traded business suits for casual and comfortable attire. While many things in my life evolved over the past four years, I loved seeing Stitch Fix evolve too. In addition to offering women’s clothing, Stitch Fix added men’s clothing, shoes, maternity wear and premium brands over the past four years. Yes, they have almost everything!

How Stitch Fix Works:

  1. Sign up and fill out a style profile. Stitch Fix carries women’s sizes 0-24W and XS-3X, maternity and petite and mens sizes XS-XXL. You select your price preference by item category (denim, tops, dresses, etc). You can also ask your stylist to stick within a budget for the cost of your entire fix.
  2. Request a Fix delivery. No subscription is required. You receive as many or as few shipments as you want. You pay $20 to have your fix curated by a personal stylist, which is credited towards any item you keep.
  3. Try it on, keep what you want, send back the rest in the prepaid shipping bag. No pressure! Shipping both ways is always free. Exchange an item for a different size or send back anything you don’t like. If you keep all five pieces, you receive a 25% discount on your entire purchase!

Tips for receiving the best fix:

  • Provide as many details about your style as possible in your style profile. More details result in fixes that best match your style.
  • Update your style profile if your spending preferences, sizing or likes change. You can update your profile at any time. I update my profile at least once every few months.
  • If you love your stylist, request the same stylist for your next fix. I learned this early on and worked with only a handful of stylists over the past five years.
  • If you want something, just ask! If you see a Stitch Fix piece you love, request it in your next fix. Before every fix you can leave detailed requests for your stylist. Request certain pieces and your stylist will send them to you, if available. I request specific pieces, colors, and styles whenever possible to ensure the best fix.

Tips for Consolidating Your Wardrobe:

Over the past few months, I worked with my stylist Kate at Stitch Fix to consolidate my wardrobe. I’m still working to achieve the goal of consolidating my wardrobe to pieces that are comfortable, versatile and compatible with my lifestyle and I’m really happy with my progress so far. Rather than purchasing items that are trendy or that I may only wear once or twice, I focus on only adding pieces to my wardrobe that are compatible with my goal. Below are a few of my tips for consolidating your wardrobe. What are your tips for building a wardrobe that is comfortable, versatile and compatible with your lifestyle?

  • Choose pieces that you will wear at least once per week.
  • Choose a mixture of tops, bottoms, jackets, dresses and shoes that work together.
  • Choose pieces that fit with the remainder of your wardrobe.
  • Choose classic pieces in fun colors and textures.
  • Ditch or donate pieces that you rarely wear or are damaged. Also purge pieces that don’t fit your body or your current lifestyle.

Stitch Fix January 2018 Review

I received all of the items featured in this review in my recent fixes. The Pink Sweater is Pixley Fallan Twist Back Plunging V Neck Pullover ($58). The dark grey booties are BC Footwear Union Contrast Material Booties ($80). Both are comfortable and versatile. The boots are the perfect neutral when dressed up or down. The pullover sweater is also a beautiful neutral with a fun and unexpected twist back detail.

The burgundy floral blouse is Collective Concepts Judit V-Neck Blouse ($58). I don’t typically like floral patterns but this one is subtle and beautiful.

The grey blazer is Skies are Blue Asa Knit Blazer ($68). I love adding a casual blazer to my wardrobe because I can easily throw it on when I’m heading to a meeting. It’s comfortable and versatile. I also received DL 1961 Moscow Skinny Jeans in my fix. The fit was not good for my body so I returned them.
