Tips for adding more berry flavor:

  • Adding sugar or an acid (such as citrus juice or vinegar) enhances berry flavor.
  • You can often substitute one berry for any other in a recipe.
  • Berries can be eaten cooked or raw.
  • Berries freeze well. Put dry berries on a cookie sheet and place in the freezer. Once frozen, store in a container and leave in the freezer for up to one year.
  • Raw berries taste best at room temperature. Remove them from the refrigerator about 1 hour before serving.
