A refreshing breakfast or snack doesn’t get much easier than a two ingredient Berry Kale Smoothie Bowl topped with coconut flakes, oats, fruit and more!
As a mom who is constantly on the go, I am always looking for better-for-you breakfast or snack options that are quick and easy. Smoothie bowls are one of my favorite options because you only need a few ingredients to create a refreshing meal. Best of all, you can sprinkle on your favorite toppings.
For this recipe, I partnered with the National Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) as part of the Cool Food Panel to bring you a fresh new breakfast or snack option that you can enjoy all year long.
To celebrate March Frozen Food Month, I’m starting the week with a smoothie bowl packed with nutrients and fresh flavor. The smoothie bowl combines DOLE® Berries n’ Kale Fruit & Veggie Blends with coconut water and other crunchy toppings. You can find the frozen fruit and veggie blend in the freezer aisle of your local grocery store. I love that the blend combines strawberries, blueberries, bananas and kale. You can keep the blends on hand in your freezer so that they are ready to go whenever you need a refreshing meal. Everything is picked at peak freshness, cut and packed into one container. The smoothie is a convenient, fresh and easy way to start your day.
Serving this smoothie in a bowl is a fun way to enjoy extra textures and flavors. Don’t be afraid to sprinkle on your favorite toppings to the smoothie to create a filling meal. Berry Kale Smoothie Bowl
- 3 cups frozen mixed berries
- 1/2 cup fresh kale or spinach
- 1/2 cup coconut water plus more as desired
- mixed berries thawed
- unsweetened coconut flakes
- old fashioned rolled oats
- sliced almonds
- chia seeds
- Combine fruit and veggie blend and coconut water in a blender. Blend on high until smooth. Add additional coconut water, if needed, to achieve desired consistency. Pour smoothie into a bowl and top with thawed frozen fruit, coconut flakes, rolled oats, sliced almonds and chia seeds, as desired. Serve immediately.
