Capture the Bite at Walt Disney World resort was a great way to improve my food photography skills while enjoying a delicious taste of Disney! The event featured a stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, dinner at Trattoria al Forno, dessert at Raglan Road and more.
A few weeks ago, I had the incredible opportunity to attend Capture the Bite at Walt Disney World. Perhaps you followed along on my Instagram stories and experienced a taste of Disney with me. Capture the Bite is a food photography workshop hosted by Faith of An Edible Mosaic and Julius of Droolius. I’ve been a huge fan of their work for quite some time and was honored when they invited me to attend their first event.
Capture the Bite at Walt Disney World was a three day event featuring food photography workshops, dinner at some of Disney’s best dining locations and a visit to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. I was able to explore unique foodie experiences at the happiest place on earth! Read on for more details of the event.
The event was the first food photography workshop I attended where to focus was on photography. I’ve attended smaller photography sessions at conferences in the past, but nothing that was focused only on photography. Not only did I love the fact that the event was hosted at Walt Disney World, but I really loved that the workshop offered almost three whole days of practice.
After starting the workshop with a Behind the Seeds tour of Epcot, we photographed some of the fresh produce grown at Walt Disney World. After Faith worked her magic styling the beautiful produce, we were able to shoot in both bright light and dark light to test different lighting and moods.
The second workshop session featured a brief food styling and lighting lesson where Faith and Julius offered their best tips for taking beautiful photos. After the lesson, we grabbed our cameras for an opportunity to practice our photography skills in a casual hands-on setting. Walt Disney World provided all of the food we photographed so it was easy to take beautiful photos.
I always jump at the chance to visit Walt Disney World. Often know for it’s rides and attractions, Disney also offers a large assortment of unique experiences for people who love food. With accommodations at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, we were able to experience everything that Disney has to offer. Two of my favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World, Sanaa and Jiko, are located at the lodge so I was excited for the opportunity to stay at the property. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite Disney resorts. I can’t wait to return again in the future! Who wouldn’t love waking up to giraffe’s grazing outside of your window?
Faith and Julius mentioned their desire to host workshops across the country. While Walt Disney World was an incredible location to host the event, I think that the Capture the Bite workshop would be an excellent workshop anywhere with good food. Because there is always a unique event taking place at Walt Disney World, we were also able to attend the 2017 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. It was my second time visiting the festival this year. Not only was I able to taste even more delectable creations from around the world, but I was also able to enjoy the Behind the Seeds tour at The Land. Don’t miss my favorite unique foodie experiences at Walt Disney World for a sampling of my favorite experiences.
Oh, my! The food at Walt Disney World is a special piece of Disney magic. With so many options to choose from, you will find everything from casual quick service fare to fine dining. At the Capture the Bite event, we dined at four Disney restaurants that were completely new to me – Tiffins at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Trattoria al Forno at Disney’s Boardwalk, D-Luxe Burger at Disney Springs and Jungle Navigation Co. Lt Skipper Canteen at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. We also visited one of my favorite restaurants, Raglan Road Irish Pub, where I was able to sample the delectable desserts and learn more about the unique history of the restaurant.
You can’t go wrong no matter where you dine at Walt Disney World. Some of my favorite restaurants are located right on Walt Disney World Property.

Faith and Julius graciously invited me to attend Capture the Bite at Walt Disney World. I was not compensated to write this post and highly recommend attending the workshop. As always, all opinions are my own.
