Highlights from the 2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival features foodie favorites and festival highlights! Plus, fun experiences for kids too!
My favorite time of the year to visit Walt Disney World is festival season. Luckily, Walt Disney World hosts many festivals throughout the year. From the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. The options are endless all year long. The 2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival runs from August 31 – November 13, 2017. Plan a visit to explore the festival marketplaces and enjoy live musical performance at the Eat to the Beat Concert Series. Sharpen your kitchen skills with culinary demonstrations, seminars and more.
I visited the 2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival during the first weekend of the festival. I strongly recommend visiting over two or three weekends or a day or two at the beginning and end of a weeklong trip. Unfortunately, due to hurricane Irma, I was unable to return for another weekend in September, but will be back again in October or November. Follow me on Instagram to see live highlights from upcoming visits to the festival. In the meantime, I’m sharing a few highlights from the festival, including my favorite food, beverages and kid-friendly activities.
Make sure to pick up your Festival Passport at any of the festival booths. The passport contains important information about the festival including a list of all of the marketplaces and available food and beverage offerings.

Favorite Festival Highlights – Food and Beverages
You need multiple days to explore the more than 35 food and beverage marketplaces. Five of the marketplaces are completely new in 2017. Sample everything from Dark Chocolate Raspberry Torte at the Chocolate Studio to a Zesty Cheeseburger and Cheddar Cheese Macaroni Handwich at the Odyssey Center (in photo below). In fact, the handwich was the biggest surprise and one of my favorite items at the festival. It is a great option for kids too! It tastes like cheeseburger macaroni and cheese stuffed inside a soft tasty shell.
Some of my other festival favorites include the Smoked Corned Beef with Warm Crispy Potatoes, Pickled Onions, and Blonde Ale Beer Fondue from Flavors of Fire in Future World West, Grilled Lamb T-Bone from Australia, Smoked Beef Brisket from the American Adventure and the Warm Irish Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip. For beverages, I love the beer flight from Brewer’s Collection near Germany. These are only a handful of the many food and beverage options. You can’t go wrong with any of the festival choices. Every visit means more unique cuisine offerings. I’m excited to visit again in a few weeks to try more delectable creations!
Favorite Festival Highlights – Activities and Experiences
Festival Center, Speciality Dining and Seminars
For the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, the Festival Center includes everything from seminars with guests chefs to book signings and festival merchandise. One of the highlights of the festival center is The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar featuring Ghirardelli treats and gourmet drinking chocolate. If you love chocolate like myself, than you will love the unique chocolate experience.
Yes, the sculptures in the two photos below are chocolate! As part of The Chocolate Experience, the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival includes chocolate art made by Disney World chefs.
Living with the Land is one of my favorite attractions at Epcot. During the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, the land features produce, spices and more items used in the dishes. Inspired by dishes from around the world, the festival includes many ingredients grown in The Land at Epcot.
Festival Fun for Kids
The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival offers something for everyone. Many of the menu items were designed with kids in mind. Stop by the LightLab in Future World for colorful treats and more. Or join in the fun of Remy’s Ratatouille Hide and Squeak, a fun hidden adventure hunt to locate statutes of Remy throughout the park. You can purchase the map and stickers from select merchandise locations. Additional details featuring kid-friendly fun is included in the Festival Passport.
