Taco seasoning is easy to make at home and store until you’re ready to use. We make a double or triple batch so that we have plenty on hand for taco meat seasoning and more of our favorite dishes.

Taco seasoning ingredients

Taco seasoning is made of the following spices.

  • Chili powder
  • Cumin
  • Paprika
  • Coriander
  • Oregano
  • Garlic Powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Crushed Red Pepper
  • Sea Salt
  • Black Pepper

How to make taco seasoning

To make taco seasoning, mix together 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin, 3/4 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon coriander, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder and 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper. Store the seasoning in an airtight container or spice jar for up to one year.

It’s quick and easy to make this homemade taco seasoning. The seasoning is also gluten free, sugar free and is better than store-bought seasoning.

Ingredients 

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
  • 3/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl or container. Store in an airtight container or spice jar.

  • Double or triple the recipe and store in a medium size spice jar.
