Everyone loves Disney magic. New and exciting experiences happen no matter how many times you visit Walt Disney World Resort. My family loves to seek out new, exciting and unique experiences. While the five experiences provided in the guide are a great option for a first-time visitor to Walt Disney World, they are also the perfect experience for annual passholders or repeat visitors looking for something extra special. The majority of these extra magical experiences are an additional cost beyond the standard park admission but they are all worth the extra cost because you are experiencing an additional piece of Disney magic. Extra Magical Experiences at Disney’s Magic Kingdom
(1) Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant
The fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom is an event that should not be missed. It is the perfect ending to the day. The Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant makes any visit to the Magic Kingdom extra special. In addition to an endless amount of sweet treats, the party also includes exclusive access to a private viewing area in either the patio of Tomorrowland Terrace or the plaza area near Main Street. The cost of the party varies depending on the location you choose for the fireworks viewing. The plaza viewing area is usually cheaper and it’s the option that I would recommend based on the cost. After you finish enjoying the delectable desserts, a castmember escorts you to a private viewing area near the castle. Arrive early to view both Once Upon A Time and Happily Ever After.
(2) Behind the Scenes Tours at the Magic Kingdom
The behind the scenes tours at Walt Disney World are always one of my favorite activities. Photography is strictly prohibited on the tours so I do not have photos to share of the actual tour. Experiencing a behind-the-scenes look at Disney Magic is unique and exciting. Do you want to take a peek backstage at the Haunted Mansion? Or venture into the underground utilidors?
Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour and Walt Disney: Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour offer a behind the scenes look at Disney magic. The Keys to the Kingdom tour is a 5-hour tour that explores the underground utilidors and more. The Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour starts on Main Street and includes unique facts about Walt Disney and explores the imagineering behind your favorite Disney attractions. The tours include a significant amount of walking and listening to the castmember so they are best suited for older children and adults.
(3) Early Morning Magic at the Magic Kingdom
Escaping the crowds at Walt Disney World Resort is almost impossible. However, with Early Morning Magic in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, beat the crowds and receive limited entry, first-access experience to the parks. Breakfast is also included. This unique experience is as magical as it sounds!
Early Morning Magic is only offered on select days. Check the calendar for availability. This unique experience is an additional cost (currently $69 per adult and $59 per child as of 3/30/18). The cost includes early admission to Fantasyland with unlimited access to ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Peter Pan’s Flight and the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh as many times as you want during the hours of the event. After experiencing the attractions, enjoy a full buffet breakfast at Pinocchio Village Haus.
On the days we experienced Early Morning Magic, the Carrousel and It’s a Small World were also open. We also experienced the first boat ride of the day at It’s a Small World, something we never had the opportunity to experience before. Because you are in the park before it officially opens, you can also plan to be in line first when the other rides open. We were able to ride Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid with no wait and the Haunted Mansion with little wait before most people even entered the park. With the special access to the rides and a full buffet breakfast, you are receiving a relatively good value for the ticket.

(4) Mickey Mail
Did you know that you can send mail from Main Street USA in the Magic Kingdom? Cast members collect mail daily from the mailboxes on Main Street. And if you visit City Hall (guest relations), you can ask a castmember to postmark the mail from the Magic Kingdom. Sending mail from the Magic Kingdom makes your visit to Walt Disney World extra magical. (5) Special Events at the Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Resort hosts numerous special events throughout the year. Visiting during one of the special events makes your trip extra special. Two of my favorite special events at the Magic Kingdom are Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The events are packed with extra magical happenings such as sweet treats, activities and entertainment. Most of the event offerings are only available at the events so plan to attend if you want to enjoy an extra magical experience at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
