Strawberries and Cream Steel Cut Oatmeal is creamy and full of fresh strawberry flavor! Start the day with a big bowl of hearty oats and fresh strawberries!
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you saw that I spent last Saturday with the Florida Strawberry Growers Association. I love strawberries so I never pass up the opportunity to learn more about them. I came home with ten pounds of fresh Florida strawberries. The next morning I started the day with a big bowl of strawberries and cream oatmeal.
I can’t even count all of the reasons why I love living in Florida. The ability to grow produce year round is by far one of my favorite things about Florida. I visited the strawberry fields in California back in September, and this past weekend I had the opportunity to visit the strawberry fields here in Florida. If you know anything about me, you know that I am obsessed with strawberries.
I traveled with a group of other Florida food bloggers to Dover and Plant City, Florida to tour the fields and packaging facility. While much of the country is covered in snow, here in Florida we are growing beautiful fresh red strawberries. In fact, Florida is the largest producer of strawberries in the winter. We visited during one of the peak months of production. There were strawberry fields for miles and beautiful flowers and red berries peeking out from the fresh green leaves.
Do you know what is even better than a big bowl of strawberries and cream oatmeal? A bowl piled high with additional strawberries. A whole cup of strawberries has only 49 calories and is packed with fresh strawberry flavor. A big bowl of steel cut oats with fresh berries is the best way to start the day. This oatmeal is easy to make and packed with flavor. Buy yourself some fresh juicy strawberries and make a big batch of strawberries and cream steel cut oatmeal!
