Mornings can be hectic. But I find that the few hours before I head in to work are my most productive so I try to get as much done as possible in the morning. I spend an hour or so catching on on blog related things, such as answering emails, editing photos or drafting a new post. Then I grab something for breakfast and head to work.

Just because mornings are busy doesn’t mean that you have to sacrifice flavor or nutrition. You will always find more than one jar of peanut butter in my pantry. Adding peanut butter to your morning routine is quick, convenient and budget friendly.ย Before I head out the door, I always make sure to eat a nutritious and filling breakfast. Peanut butter is nutritious, versatile and always part of my morning routine. Some days I spread it over a slice of toast or English muffin. I love to add a few spoonfuls to my morning oatmeal or even add it to this Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie.

September is Better Breakfast Month so let’s make time for breakfast and add creamy peanut butter. ย Peanut butter is high in fiber, protein and good fats and is a great addition to any meal. Peanut Butter for Breakfast is the perfect way to start the day. Full of nutritious ingredients and packed with peanut butter flavor, a smoothie is filling and delicious. So much goodness is packed into a flavorful smoothie!

Because I love chocolate, I also add some chocolate drizzle to my glass and slices of extra banana.

Yields about 2 servings

Peanut Butter Smoothie
Save Recipe


  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 medium banana, frozen
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • chocolate syrup, for serving


  1. Combine first six ingredients (yogurt through honey) together in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Serve with chocolate syrup, as desired.
